This was the first time I ate and cooked an ostrich egg. It wouldn't have occurred to me, but I saw it at the farmers market and I was curious. As you already know, I am a lover of bird eggs so I couldn't miss this opportunity. In this first attempt, I didn't want to complicate things, so I made a family-sized scrambled egg. 1 chicken egg weighs approximately 50g and this ostrich egg weighs approximately 1200g (equivalent to 24 chicken eggs). The taste is very similar to that of a chicken, although a bit milder. The most complicated part was opening the egg without damaging the yolk. I used a saw, hammer, and utility knife. Delicious!
